Let me set one lexical issue straight: dump "disinterested" from all stories. What the Parcells tough guys want is to rid the team of uninterested--as in unmotivated or complacent--players, not disinterested ones--as in fair and impartial. The words are not synonomous. The only people who should be disinterested are the coaches and Parcells, as in give everyone a fair shot and don't be tied to "your" guys versus "Cam's" guys or "Saban's" guys.

Last year there were only 2-3 D- players putting in 100%. JT and ZT as always were the heart and soul of a once proud D. I was shocked because we had come to respect Miami's D as one of the best in the league. When the guys were wearing out in the 3rd quarter and there were so many injuries I began to question Cam's conditioning program and now we see that it stunk.

And let me point out it shows how bad the judgement of the media versus the fan base. This doesn't just apply to Soliai, it applies to a lot of guys on last year's team and over the last few years.

If the source is accurate, this reminds me of that crybaby that we once had named Manny.

Part of growing up is to stop living off the past clippings of college achievements and being drafted by the NFL, and realize that everyone who plays on this level is big, strong, and fast. The guys who make it have the heart and find something that will give them a winning edge. Remember Wes Welker. Nat Moore had to work a regular job before walking on at U of F then playing for the Dolphins. Maybe one of these free agents will come to the light like Wes Welker.

Speaking of bubbles, I was once on a date and, after a festive bean laden (no, not Bin Laden) dinner at Casa Bonita with my 'lady', I felt some intestinal disturbance.

Being the consummate gentleman, I tried to run a play from the Giants that we used to call the "left cheek sneak" whereby I lean to one side and sneak a silent one all the while the lady is none the wiser and everyone is happy if you know what I mean (and I think you do).

What followed was an exercize in sheer terror. I experienced what is known in coaching parlance as a 'fudge bubble". Despite being a master of sphincter control at many a press conferece (I recalled in 87 after the NFC championship game, when I really had to go to the point that I was 'poking daylight' or as my defensive coordinator Bill Belichik used to call it 'prarie dogging', but this was not a 'pressing' issue when I attempted what I hoped would be an innocuous outgassing.

Well the evenings magic was almost ruined when I came up with a brilliant coaching improvisational adjustment that as Keyshawn will be quick to point out separates the great ones from the good ones. I asked to use my "lady"'s porcelain convenience and promptly locked the bathroom dooe and deep sixed my size 52 bvd underwear and flushed.

Well, no great game is worthy of Steve Sabol and NFL films without some 4th quarter dramatics, and sure enough my bulletproof plan backfired. To wit, one sound your date never wants to hear coming from her bathroom is "Excuse me, I hate to impose, but I think I am going to need a mop and a plunger". However I managed to wrestle the whole thing down (sort of like coaching T.O.) and I'll have you know the ole' Tuna scored a a TD later that night if you know what I mean (and I think you do).

Regarding the Bubble, I say don't use it unless there is lightning during practice. What made Miami have an edge, an INTANGIBLE, was the ability to withstand the Florida heat. Now, there is no advantage. Here's a thought. You want to play in the Bubble? OK, turn the temperature up to 120 degrees and go play inside.

Armando - an interesting tidbit for the gossip pages, but how about an update on how Solai is doing currently? What does the new coach think of his work ethic in the offseason program so far? Didn't you have a chance to ask questions during the recent mini-camp? Give us some current info, not last season's gossip.

And a side note on the page count post, just because you have a high hit count does not equate to good, professional journalism. You really need to step up your game in that department.
