John Beck is the miami dolphins future and this is why:
1.Last year he had the worst O-line in the league

2.He is very smart, quick, and accurate

3.He is young and still has time to learn

4.Josh McCown has been in the leaugge six years and hasn't gotten better

5.Josh McCown can throw far, be is very unaccuarte

6.Lets not even talk about chad henne being the next tom brady, because he was not even good in college. HE LOST TO APPAlATION STATE what is that all about, the only reason they say he is good is because Mike Hart made him look good

Some have said that Chad Henne will be the next Tom Brady. The earlier we get him on the field the better. It's not like we are going to win more than 6 games this year no matter what we do. Might as well get the rook out there.

how can u say beck sucks he had no line last year he got hit as soon as he got the ball or was so afraid of getting hit in 2 seconds he fumbled the snap trying to get back so quick! oh and he had the 5th string running back no ronnie or ricky. he had no chambers or marty booker. yes he had ginn and heagan but once again with no line to protect and no ronnie brown so the recivers could get open or to give them time to get open due to the line give the man a fair chance and i bet he is one of the top 5 QB in the league once the dolphins get rolling in 2 years! rob psl florida

***The reason McCown will start the season is that because he is the most experienced and has had the most 'success' he gives our beloved 'Phins the best foot forward out of the gates. For all we know the phins go from 1-15 to playoff contention and you can't throw games away at the beginning of the season.

Now McCown will likely look unimprssive and if he continues with a 69 passer rating the only way he stays is if we run a string of wins together which isn't going to happen.. as long as the 1st loss happens in the first three games .. Beck will be next ..

I think we're all speculating at this point. I hope Beck is the answer and he's given the chance to win the job. This is what it will take, for one of them to win the job.

That said, I think our WR position is very weak at this point so it may come down to leadership abilities since we will be a running team.

Why the John Beck bashing? He was a rookie on a bad team, with questionable coaching. These bloggers are probably the same ones, or have the same mind set as the ones that bashed Troy Aikman's rookie year.

McCown was a finalist for the prestigeous Walter Payton award, after transfering from SMU to Sam Houston State, wher he threw something like 32 tds.
He performed well at the NFL combine, and score high on the IQ test-HE's SMART

He led the Cardinals with two tds in the closing minutes to knock the Vikings out of the playoffs. He also directed a come from behind victory in the Mexico City game, played before the largest crowd ever to attend a regular season game and before a national tv audience.- He CAN Perform Under Pressure.
He had two of the five most productive passing yard totals during the 2005 season. His 47 yard td pass to Anquan Boldin vs. Dallas covered 60 plus yards.- He Has Arm Strength

I agree with Mando that McCown has the edge from an experience standpoint, and that may not be a bad thing for Beck, gives him more time to be coached & develop properly.

The job is Beck's to lose given his incumbant status with the Dolphins.

We shall see... but one thing I know .. I trust this staff more than the last three to make the right decisions regarding our QB situation.

McCown starts....it's a new offensive system for all 3 QB's....the one with the most NFL experience will initially be able to handle it the best. By the end of the season, the backup (Beck or Henne) that adjusted to the new system will finish the year as the starter. McCown in a stop-gap solution..not long term. you guys need to shutup about Henne not being able to win against "important" teams while he was in college. If that really mattered anyway, Michigan's defense against the spread was at fault, not Henne. Henne made some great throws when the defense knew he was going deep to Manningham or Arrington. Yes, they were both NFL WRs (late rounds). They were a vertical passing team for the most part and that is why Henne had a low completion % (under 60). He probably wont start any games this year, but will be a solid backup until Beck proves he's either worth keeping or a bust. The Dolphins have spent wayyy too many 2nd round picks on QBs (Feeley, Beck, Henne) and at some point they will cash in.

I don't think McCown is our guy. Why are we going to put a veteran in if we are getting younger and rebuilding? McCown has shown he will not be a great caliber QB. We need a QB that has potential of being a consistant starter for us. I believe Beck can do it. I also believe last year was unfair. Why? Because his first game he started was against the Eagles(away). Then I believe against the Steelers. Give him more games to grow, then if it doesn't work give the job to Henne. McCown to me is for insurance if one gets hurt.
