Live blog today during the game ...

Before I give you the latest news, I should tell you that I will be blogging live during the game. So all of us with no friends to sit around and watch the game with can sit around together in cyberspace.

Today's inactive offers one interesting move:

Rookie defensive tackle Paul Soliai, who played a lot last week behind Keith Traylor, is inactive today. Veteran Steven Fifita will be the backup NT.

Rod Wright, Abraham Wright, Lamont Thompson, Andre' Goodman, Lorenzo Booker and John Beck as the third quarterback are the other inactives.

Terence Newman is not going to play for the Cowboys, making Miaim's matchups throwing the football more attractive. Nathan Jones, a fourth-year guy out of Rutgers, will start in Newman's place.

Remember I'll be updating and blogging live right at kickoff. My comments will appear in the comments section.

Good special teams work by, yes, starting cornerback Will Allen on the kickoff.
But of course, Derrick Pope's ruins the good effort with a personal fou.

Third down. Nickel situation. Porter in the game. Incomplete. I smell a good day for the D.

Ginn is going to play a thousand years the way he avoid contact by stepping out of bounds. Good return, though

Trent Green turning something out of nothing. Satele has to play better today, but so far, not so good.

4:12 PM

Satele high snap. Green saves it. The Miami QB is playing great based on how he's saving bad plays and helping to turn them into good plays.

Fine run by Ronnie Brown after the catch. Great YAC -- yards after catch.

looks like the same crap every week!o-line can't block their own shadows, defence can't stop anybody's running game, supposedly lethal pass rush is non-existant,ted ginn's family must still be at church!other than that the fins look awesome haahahahahah!

4:53 PM
Blogger Hoshii said...

I was tryin to be very Optimistic about this season, but the lack of tackling and the sloppy play is very PATHETIC.. All i can say is.. Lets get it together guys or this is gonna be a very very long season

4:54 PM

I think Ginn's decision and catch was OK. Could have been downed at the one instead of 9 with all the Cowboys around

4:55 PM
Blogger Armando Salguero said...

This offense is challenged, but I, for one, appreciate they throw on first down.

4:55 PM

Satele is a rookie who in two games, has played like a rookie. He just gave up a sack and he's spending much of his time trying not to be overmatched.

4:56 PM

Again, another uninspired effort by the O-line and Brown. I see no imagination with this offense. Alot easier to call plays with Tomlinson, Gates, Rivers. Cameron no genius.

4:59 PM

I know we think the problem with this team is the offense, but the defense is really getting killed here. Dallas marching up and down the field. GET OFF THE FIELD DEFENSE!

5:10 PM

Dolphins getting donged here. A backward pass can be challenged, according to FOX broadcasters.

Looks to me like the D is to blame why they are not getting off the field. Can't stop their own shadows.

5:18 PM
Blogger Armando Salguero said...

If it's not one thing, it's another for the Miami offense. When Green gets time, he doesn't throw good passes or the receivers don't get separation.

5:22 PM
Blogger Armando Salguero said...

Wow, a complete pass to a receiver!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5:22 PM
Blogger Armando Salguero said...

Trent Green just blew a down by not being able to spike the ball!!!!

5:25 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Had the backward pass been successfully challenged, it would have been a FG for Dallas, not TD. Fins got hosed there.

5:25 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Trent did blow that down, but he was smart to throw away that 3rd down and let Feely kick it.

I must say, I was not real pleased with letting Mare go, but Feely has impressed me thus far.

5:28 PM
Blogger Armando Salguero said...

Feely now Miami's best offensive weapon. Dolphins drive 13 plays 53 yards.

5:28 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

At least we're still in the game at the half. Given the way our defense is arm-tackling, not rushing the QB, and letting the wide-outs catch 15 yard chunks, we could be in a lot worse shape than we are. Plus, we get the 2nd half opening K/off.

5:29 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

With how much the Phins are still struggling on offense, I'm excited and scared to see what's going to happen next offseason, since the mind of Cam can't figure this one out now.

5:33 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

I'm starting to like Feely too, Mare NEVER made field goals on the infield.

5:36 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey Armando, did you really mean to say the fins could start off with a record of 4 and 2 or was it a typo suggesting 4 and 12? Looks like they kept this D together one year too many...Wayne should sell the team to someone who has a clue how to run a football team.

5:37 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, it WILL take more than a single year to undo 12 years of misdrafts and mismanagement that we endured under Johnson, Wanny, & Saban.

In 6 quarters, the FINS have been competitive, so its not like Cameron has blown it big-time.

5:39 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

If anyone has been watching Mare kick the last couple of weeks including preseason, they'll be glad he is no longer with the fins

5:40 PM

The Dolphins are poised to go on a big run - at least 5-6 victories in a row.

5:41 PM
Blogger Armando Salguero said...

I know, I know. I look really overly optimistic. Or really stupid.

Here are the halftime stats:

Miami 38 rushing yards. Dallas 57. Miami 2 of 4 on third downs, the cowboys 4 of 7 which is horrible for Miami. Net passing Dallas 114 to Miami 63.

- receiver help, since Booker is for sure gone and Chambers might be too

Too many holes... at least I'm still young

I was really impressed with Green last week. He's got great poise and seems to lead the team well. I wish we could have got him several years ago. Even last week, I can't say that he's losing us games ... which more than I can say for everyone else since Marino.

I have been a Dolphin fan since 1969, I'm tired of watching them. It has been embarrassing year in and year out same lame under achieving team with second rate coaching. There are more Cowboy fans in the stadium than Dolphin fans. They have no offensive line Ronnie Brown is so overrated and they pass up a guy like Drew Brees for Trent Green. You got Tedd Ginn Jr. on the sidelines instead of in the game where he can make a difference as a wide receiver. They show flashes of brilliance but I think it all starts with the coaching staff and the off season signings. They haven't done jack with either in 15 years. I feel sorry for Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas guys that have given their all year after year. I think Wayne is just looking for a reason to jinx this team to move them to a different city. Maybe thats why he hired Cam Cameron...Signed disappointed in Tennessee.

6:30 PM

Hey, at least the Jets are losing, the Bills lost, and we can hope for a Pats loss tonight since they can't videotape the other team!!!!! We may ACTUALLY still be in the once FEARED AFC East ... what the hell ever happened to us?

I thought Joey Porter said they weren't going to give away games anymore. This one is being handed to the Cowboys on a silver platter. This team is pathetic. They've sucked for so many years now, and the future is so ugly I can't even look. It's no wonder why Saban walked (ran) away from this sorry ball club. Fire the entire front office, sell the team, and start from scratch. A winning season is at least a decade away regardless....

6:37 PM

6:43 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

The Phins have been debilitated by 6+ years of barren drafts. It will take at least 2 years, if not 3 or 4 to rebuild the core of this team. Football is won and lost at the line of scrimmage. The Phins have gotten by with a good DL for a while now. They will need to have a good OL and DL at the same time in order to have a solid chance. We're talking 2-3 years, at least.

6:43 PM

Come on guys, give it a rest. Yes the season hasn't started as we'd all hope. But give Cameron a season or two before writing them off. How much do you expect from the guy after just one off-season.

If expectations from the fans aren't at an all time low then I don't know how many more playoff-less seasons we need.

The team is below average, aging and hasn't had a solid draft since Jimmy Johnson left. Give it time.

40 yard run untouched this is not a great defense. Time to think trade for draft picks.

Armando, I'm out of the country and just watching via espn web gamecast and following the blog, so I can't see the action. Is Trent really playing as pitiful as it seems and do you think Cam would be man enough to admit his poor judgement and start someone else next week?
