A glance around the NFL must be painful to Dolphins

It hurts these Dolphins that they have problems in every facet of the game, with an offense that throws four interceptions, a defense that can't stop the run and a special teams that is anything but special.

But aside from their internal pains, the Dolphins must look around the NFL now and feel sick.

Miami, it seems, has done little right in making personnel decisions for quite a long time now. And that seed of bad decisions is starting to bring in a harvest of wrath.

Let's begin in Cleveland. The Dolphins in 2005 passed on receiver Braylon Edwards and went instead with Ronnie Brown. This after Nick Saban ordered then GM Rick Spielman to tell Edwards' agent the Dolphins were going to draft the Michigan star.

They didn't. Well, Brown is OK behind a challenged offensive line. But Edwards is more productive despite playing with an equally challenged offense. They both scored 9 TDs their first two years but Edwards seems to be finally nearing his potential this year, with 11 catches for nearly 200 yards his first two games.

Brown, meanwhile, was iced on the bench Sunday because he is not a favorite of coach Cam Cameron. Cameron went to different packages in the fourth quarter with 11 minutes to play and those packages included Jesse Chatman over Brown.

That is not the only place Miami's running back woes beg questions. Sammy Morris, whose rushing average was practically equal to Brown last season, was let go in free agency. Well, he's in New England now as the backup. He's outgained Brown this year while playing only part time. And, in fact, his 105 yards is only 22 yards behind Miami's team total rushing yardage so far. Yikes.

Let's stay with the Pats for a second. Both Miami and the Pats went out and signed a high-priced outside linebacker in free agency this offseason. The Dolphins signed Joey Porter who has like four tackles and has made zero impact plays so far.

The Pats signed Adalius Thomas, who is already paying dividends on his deal, having intercepted a pass and returned it 65 yards for a TD Sunday against San Diego. Now, I know the season is still young. But is there anyone out there who believes Porter will outplay Thomas this year? Anybody? Speak up!

Finally, I ask you to take a quick scan of the first round of the 2006 NFL draft. Top to bottom it was a very good class as there are only a couple of players that don't contribute significantly to their teams right now.

One of those players? Miami's Jason Allen who plays only on special teams on Sunday after serving as a scout team player during the week. This doesn't mean Allen cannot be a contributor five or seven years down the line when he finally figures things out. But right now, when Miami needs young talent to step up, he's nowhere to be found.

So look around the NFL and pick out any player in that first round class and wonder what might be if the Dolphins had picked them instead.

It hurts.

Your thoughts?

Armando: You're absolutely right. It hurts...to be a Dolphins fan right now. I know it's early in the season but I feel like I keep watching the same bad movie over and over and expecting a different ending. I hope they can get it together and fast.

While I feel the same pain I feel a bit different this year than last. Last year it seemed we could never get a drive going hardly on Offense. Believe it or not....We had some great drives *started* last week...but ya...Four interceptions and only 2 mins of possession in the 2nd Quarter...Nobody is gonna win with those stats.

Lets not forget that Sammy Morris is now on the Pats..They tend to make people look good. Both Morris and Welker are going to have the best years of their carreer this year because they are on a well established good team led by one of the best quarterbacks that has ever played the game. Hardly our fault.

Sham Shameron sucks and his father(Trent Green) should retire to the florida keys with the rest of the senior citizens. Sham Shameron is a coach that hates on his players and does not know how to build confidence.

I blame no one but Sham Shameron for yesterdays debucle. we were in the game at halftime we come out in the beginning of the second half and looked good Ronnie ran the ball well and the offense on that seris was well balanced which probably led to the touchdown we took the lead 13-10 then the defense comes out and does its job then sham shameron abandons the run and goes to the shotgun are u kidding me after that it was shotgun and more shotgun and no Ronnie Brown. when they finally put Ronnie back in the game with 1:45 secs left and catches a pass for 24 yards. I feel bad for the defense because they are taking the brunt of the blame but they were on the field 36 mins of 60 mins and most of those in back to back situations after 5 tounovers 4 almost 5 by green granted I still have to blame Sham for the INT's even though I would love to blame green but the offense became so predictable it was ridiculous. I'm so pissed because we were hanging with them and had a real good chance of pulling it out.
But bad play calling and shams hate for certain players lead to this. SHAM YOU SUCK BIG BALLS AND I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU GET FIRED. NICK SATAN WOULD HAD DONE A BETTER JOB. I won't even get started with Culpepper.

One more thing...If you sent Ronnie Brown over to the Pats....he wouldn't look so bad anymore.

It' going to hurt even more when Brady Quinn starts playing and throwing TD's while we decided to pass on him for Ted Ginn Jr and his family!!!

stop your crying. daunte doesn't even start and Brady Quinn was charging people @ Browns stadium $75 per autograph before he even signed. Then he cried like a baby demanding top 10 money. Ya, he looked OK in preseason...but that don't mean shit.

not to mentions Quinn's holdout that left him unprepared for the season. John Beck was in camp on time for a lot less money. Realize we didn't pick Ginn over him, we picked Beck over him.

Let's face the facts and call a spade a spade. The Dolphins flat out suck. Not just the players but also Management, and it looks like we're doomed for a long time. By the time they get the offense working, they'll have to start rebuilding the defense from scratch. It goes all the way back to Spielman and Weinstadt to the present. It's sad to see, but I don't see any bright future for several years. Hopefully it won't take longer.

Piss on Don Coryell and his offense. Run the dam ball down someone's throat and keep their offense off the field.

I'm not ready to say the management sucks yet. Theres plenty of teams out there that lost almost every game with new management before turning it around.

Honestly, the way we have moved the ball on some drives this year..including the first drive of the second half and even the one before the half (before the silly spike errors) were drives we rarely if at all produced last year.

Well Daunte will be starting sooner than later that was not my point earlier. but trent green has already thrown more INT's in two games than Culpepper did in four. anyway I do not want to get in a culpepper discussion. because it's not here or there my point of bringing him up has to do with sham's judgement of certain players. I don't care about Quinn I like Beck. My issue is with play calling on all this hating. I don't know what you think is proper play calling but I feel once you have a lead you try to protect it and slow down the game so you can give your defense a rest pounding brown and chatman or calling some screens would have been better than the shotgun. I just don't get it. the balanced offense in the first seris after the half was the best I've seen the offense play this season. It was also the best Ronnie looked so far and Sham rewards him with benching him. Sham is an idiot that could not win in college I was hoping so much that I would have been wrong about him but after seeing his genius in two games so far this season I'm affraid I might have been wrong I'm actually still hoping that I'm wrong because I love the Dolphins but Sham needs to stop the hating.

I don't know where to start. I agree with Tom@jax, "by the time we get the offensive going our defense is going to need upgrading". Listen people; we need to draft better. That's it, nothing else will help us more. Look at our past five drafts. Only guy worth a damn is Roth. He is the only solid guy I like. Why do we draft so poorly? If we were not able to draft offensive line in the first round because the guys we like were gone then why not draft Willis at linebacker or another solid safety or cornerback. Why did we have to draft Ginn. I don't even know who to blame anymore. I must sound like a little "b____" Lets just get better players out there.

I put the blame on Cameron. We were doing fine after the half when we were running Ronnie . If I'm not mistaken for all you Brown haters he has been by far the best back out of his draft class , at least Saban knew how to utilize him. I think for 2 weeks now this has been terrible offensive play calling be the supposed genious.

Shula's last offensive coordinator hit the nail on the head, You can't make chicken salad with chicked sh!@#. Well, no offense to several fine players on the team, but Armando is on the money with this article, at this point it really comes down to management, both coaching selections and player selections, it is clear most every other team has drafted better than Miami over the last 10 years, and that is the problem plain and simple.

Armando, I understand the point you are trying to make but some of your examples don't make the case.

First off, comparing Porter and Thomas is silly after two games. Let the movie play for a while longer before you decide.

Second, Brown has been hampered by a bad OL since he came into the league. The team has only just begun to address the problem. Again, let the movie run a bit longer before you judge.

Here are some better examples you could have cited:
1) Culpepper over Brees
2) Jamar Fletcher over Brees
3) Eddie Moore over Anquan Boldin

The focus needs to remain with the OL as the prime culprit on offense. They've already got their QB and #1 WR of the future, as well as the RB (Brown).

Defensively, they should just continue taking best player available as depth is an issue all across.

No one wants to hear "Be Patient" but that's the reality for team in rebuilding mode. And they ARE REBUILDING...a third of the roster has a year or less of experience.

Armando, it'd be great if you can post Porters contract terms. It sounds like 20 million guaranteed messes Miami up for years. Is it that bad ? How is the deal structured ? When can Miami get out of it without to much cap pain ?

Complaining about past drafts ain't gonna get the ox out of the ditch.

Bitching about Ronnie Brown's ability ain't gonna get the ox out of the ditch (BTW, LT has 22 carries for 65 yds so far. Reggie Bush is about the same).

Now bitching about the current play calling and ABANDONING THE RUN when it is having good effects might do some good. The coach f'd up on this one.

On the plus side, I thought both kickers did a superb job in both games. Even the receivers looked good yesterday, though I thought Chambers should have gone after one of those balls that turned into an interception a little harder than the DB did.

You can't expect to reverse 7 years of bad personnel moves in one season. We got a long way to go before we can turn this ship around. Problem is that so far this new regime hasn't even begun to turn the ship.

Cameron is a joke, which is why he has won nothing as an OC or HC at any level, the play calling is laughable. He had the best RB in the league last year and chocked once things counting in the playoffs, and now he is letting his personal feelings vs Brown effect his playcalling. Are you kidding me, Chatman is more of a playmaker than Brown. I haven't seen Brown drop a pass this year and he is 10 times the back Chatman is. You come out after half and put together the best drive of the year behind some big runs by Brown and then what is the reward for Brown, you bench him. Miami won't win a game unless they put the ball in Brown's hands 20-25 times a game, you sure as heck can't put it in Green's hands, he is done, take a look at Beck. Oh yeah, the Ginn pick is looking really good, what a joke he is as well, looks scared anytime the ball comes his way.

I think abadoning the run was a mistake. That I put on cam cameron. Ronnie needs at leat 20 carries before he becomes effective. Big mistake sitting him in q3.
Green's arm looks very week. i think its worth starting cleo for the next few games and then put in beck. This year is gone might as well get beck some reps.

LOL...........where are all those Trent Green supporters NOW????

Cam sucks and I been saying it all along!!!! How do you start training camp and tell Ronnie he is going to be responsilbe for a larger load on sundays and when the season starts he is only touching the ball 10-15 times a game. Regardless of the O line, if you continually run the ball the D for any team is going to bend in the 3rd and 4th quarters!!!! But Cam is so busy trying to make his trade for Trent look like a good deal he's getting away from the running game!!!

My next issue is Cam and Randy's offseason moves!!! Has anyone seen Wes Welker play this season?? Now I agree we got a great pick in return but we DON'T have enough talent on this team to give some away!!!

Next is the draft why draft a player that isn't going to contribute until years down the road??? No I'm not saying they should've went with Brady, we should've been looking for Offensive linemen, so you say there weren't very many in the first round?!?!? Then you trade the first round pick for two good established lineman.

Cam went all out for Green but wasn't willing to go all out for any linemen!!! And please don't say there where none available because there where plenty of disgruntle NFL linemen this offseason!!! If Cam wasn't so busy trying to get the trade for Green done, he could've created a trade for a lineman!!!

I could go on for days about these DUMBASS decisions, and questionable play calling!! But I'm just gonna drag through the rest of the season with my team looking like the little brothers of the league!!!

Thanks Cam and Randy!!!!

One last thing since we'll have the #1 overall pick next year do we take a defensive or offensive lineman??

I am not that disappointed with Cameron. At least he tries to throw the ball, which is more than can be said about any of our offensive coordinators for a long while. What bothers me is the poor execution by the players. Is it the nice weather? Do players get to Miami and think they're on vacation? I am in Philly and wasn't able to watch the game (which is probably a blessing), but when are these guys going to get mean and kick some butt? Being a Dolphin fan used to be fun. Now it means that I'm rereading Miami Heat blogs in September. Helllllllllp!!!!

Well now you all know why I went on that rant last week. I could see it coming. We have drafted horribly since Jimmy Johnson and traded away far too many picks with the one-player-away mentality that both Wannstedt and Saban employed.

It should be mentioned that after the 1st drive of the second half the Cowgirls brought 8 into the box but Green couldn't exploit it. That was more of the reason for Brown being pulled because I think Cameron likes Chatman more as a pass catcher. With that in mind we drafted Lorenzo Booker to fill that very role and he has not even sniffed the field.

Of the 1st 4 draft picks this year only Satele has emerged as a starter or even a reasonable role player. We can give Beck a pass because of the nature of the position, but up till this point it does not look like Cameron and Mueller have done much better than their predecessors.

It's early yet to assess this draft but these guys should be on the field. We suck anyway so trial by fire will get them prepared to play better than riding the pine or being inactive.

J Dizzile I love it you hit right on

Dr J leave a post when you watch a game

There has been horrific moves this off season
The only two I liked where McMicheal gone and Porter in some of you might not agree with porter but he will be key later the defense has been playing to much in the first two games. There was to much wasted time on green. We should have kept Culpepper and concentrated on the o line because that is the only thing that would have truely helped the team what is the difference between culpepper throwing Int's and Fumbling if green is doing the same at least there was a time when culpepper was the best qb in the league or some may argue second best but green has never even been top 5. I'm starting to wonder if shameron has and eye for talent. seems the only players he wants are players he coached before or if he knows there family he cut welker in san diego so he traded him in this case because he does not like him and right now 1st pick or not I would take Welker right now over ginn. and sorry guys but right now I would take Daunte over Green in a heart beat. what we should have done was draft a Mack daddy Lineman kept Culpepper signed David Carr as a back up with potential and still drafted Beck and are qb's would have been Culpepper, Carr, & Beck instead of Green, Clemons, and Beck. say what you want but Carr has pushed Delhomme in Carolina that he looks like a canidate for comeback player of the year(I know its early) and kept Welker which was for the fins alot like what Stokely was for the Colts. and please if Ricky got reinsated we really can use he's help because chatman is a papa and if Chatman was so good he would have stayed in the NFL(Was out of the NFL and overwieght before we signed him) and not waited for sham to rescue him. Shams hate for certain players will keep hurting us as long as he is coach. I know we have had some bad drafts but we have had some good ones Nick Satan first draft brought us Brown, Crowder, Daniels, Roth, Hagan(Who made some nice catches yesterday)
These guys are contributing right now and brown has proven he can play ran for 1000 yards in his second year (would have 1000 in his first year too if he would not have gotten hurt) behind a crap OL so give the man a break he has been the best back from hes draft class better than Cadilac, Benson, Deangelo Williams. Some players are the type that wear down defenses and that is the type of player Brown is just like ricky was(Just not as good)but you give the ball to brown 20-25 times a game and he is a stud. But whether he is good or not isn't even important. YOU DON'T ABANDON THE RUN AND GO INTO A SHOTGUN FORMATION WHEN YOU ARE UP 3 POINTS AND HAVE A TIRED DEFENSE FROM PLAYER 75 PERCENT OF THE FIRST HALF. IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME THAT SHAMERON WILL NOT BE HAPPY UNTIL HE RUNS THE DEFENSE TO THE GROUND AND TAKES AWAY EVERY BIT OF CONFIDENCE THAT RONNIE BROWN HAS.

I truly believe that we can be ok and surprise some teams with green (It's not that I dislike Green even though I did not like the trade but there is just not much difference between DC and TG right now) and if he does more playcalling like he did on the first seris after the half and he stops the hating.

I can tell you a few things about next year. Brian Brohm will be our starting QB. Cam Cameron will not be our head coach. Ronnie Brown will be our HB. Chambers and Ginn will be our WRs. The rest, I dont know, but this year is over. We may go 0-16 and the Pats may go 16-0....

Wow... Everyone is funny here. Here is what I have observed this year so far... The defense can not tackle, we are still weak at CB. In the past few years the defense was "bend but do not break", now we break very easily. JT tried to strip a ball yesterday instead of tackling a guy for a 3 yard lost.
Cam has nothing to do with this mess, he is trying to fix it. Your orginal post has to do with drafting, Dave and Nick were horrible at the draft.
Back to the game, we may have turned the ball over 4 times, but the offense is a little more explosive (at least it will be). Our kicker is much better so far but the rest of our special teams suck.

Every one is talking about the first drive of the second half as the most impressive drive, I was more impressed with the first drive because they moved the ball and score points on the first possession of the game something they have not done very often since well Marino. Why would you throw deep to you slowest player double cover on the second drive? For a INT...I think they should play GINN as 3rd receiver to strech the field like in one exhibition game and let ronnie run wild.
Hey Mike I agree with you and let give them a break...Coaching has not been very good hope they get their act together.

Lee from MD did you even watch the game

anyway Shameron is the one who has been coaching that whole strip ball thing yes it is a coaching problem. the players are not calling the offensive plays its the offensive genious shameron and after the beautiful play calling (and yes it was very nice) he did in the first seris that lead to a touchdown he blew it down the stretch and yes the defense was a bend but not break type of defense. but its easy to break when your on the field 40 mins of 60 mins of a game. yes are dbs are slack but they where last year too actually I can't even remember the last time we had good DB's. ask your self if you had a lead against and explosive opponent like the cowboys wouldn't you have tried to slow the game down and run clock down so that you can take away the ball from the cowboy offense. look at Peyton Manning Yesterday when the colts played the titans he would not snap the ball until there was 1 or 2 secs left on the play clock instead we went into some hurry up offense with out the hurry up maybe if it was no huddle maybe it would have worked. It was bad play calling that killed us and hes dislike for Brown Ronnie was a key part of that touchdown at the beginning of the second half but instead we come out with the dam Shotgun and what happens with the shotgun the opposing defense reads pass first and they were ready for what is coming. You use the shotgun when you are playing from behind or if you have a lot points to catch up. not when you are up. I don't think the dolphins are as bad as everyone says we in both games and it was playcalling that killed us in both. you should never abandon the run unless you are down 2 or 3 scores and you are at the end of the 3rd quarter. Balance keeps defenses guessing. The running game keeps the clock moving and so do screens I saw alot of plays that Green forced down the field and if he would have dumped them to his backs they would have had a first down which also keeps the clock running but instead we kept giving the cowboys the ball off course the defense is going to get tired. You would be tired to if everytime you got a break you have to get back on the field before you even got a chance to drink your glass of water.

Cam isn't a Head coach, he's a decent offensive coordinator but he doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach!!!! And if the owner of our team knew anything about football he would've never signed Cam as head coach.

This team needed someone to jumpstart the offense not come in and tear it down!!! Nick wasn't a bad Head coach he just didn't have an eye for talent which is why you need a good GM!!!

Further more I agree both of these games have been lost because of his play calling. In our lost to Washington, we got the ball back with over a minute and had all three timeouts!! Do you think Cam attempted to go for the win??? No he was OK going into overtime!! Then this last lost to Dallas we where up and just needed to slow the game down and let our aging Defense rest, but what did he do instead start running pass plays which stopped the clock with every incomplete pass!!!!!

What the Dolphins need to do is fire Randy , demote Cam to GM because he has an eye for talent just doesn't know how to coach it!!! And hire Bill Cowher or Marty as head coach!!!!!

The real sad thing is Wayne actually thought that a ROOKIE head coach was going to turn this team around without rebuilding!!!!!

My thought is I'm sick of seeing people blame "the Dolphins" when the full blame should be put on the three previous coaching regimes. The jury is still out on Cameron because Ginn is a WR as well as a punt ret. guy and even you have said that it takes wr's 2 to 3 years to make an impact. Also Beck could turn out to be a very good QB. So blaming "the Dolphins" is ridiculous because in essence you're blaming Huzienga. I didn't see anyone crying when he hired Jimmy Johnson. Everyone praised him for the move. And it was JJ who failed to start building our offense. When JJ recommended Wanny no one said a thing because everyone trusted JJ's advice. And again it was the COACH who failed to build the offense. Than Wayne hired Saban and the entire league praised him for being able to coax this great coach from college. How did that turn out? Wayne is "the Dolphins" and he has done everything that most everyone else would have done and it didn't work out. That is not his fault anymore than it is ours for cheering at the hiring of Saban. It's the "DOLPHINS" who are suffering now but only because of the ego maniac failures that have run this team for more than a decade. Lets give Cam a chance to rebuild this disaster left by Moe, Larry, and Curly before we throw him to the dogs.

ROFLMAO! I can't believe that people are blaming Cameron for this team being horrible. What's next, the owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates hires a new coach next year and the fans in Pitt. blame that coach because the team sucks? Cam was left with an old Defense, A mess of a salary cap, no QB (Daunte isn't even starting in Oakland over a guy with a broken finger on his throwing hand!), A second string 1st rd pick RB, a practice squad 1st rd pick FS/CB, two of the slowest starting WR'S in the league, a wife beating TE, AND the absolute worst o-line in the NFL. AND THAT'S CAMS FAULT?! You people are seriously focked up in the head. PS Ginn,Beck,Booker,Satele,Solai, and Abe Wright have not had a chance yet (all rookies that need time to grow). You should wait to see what these guys do next year and the year after before blaming the poor sucker who thought this would be a good job to take.

STOP WITH THE CULPEPPER SH*T YOU FREAKING CLUELESS DOLTS! Answer this for me, why did Oakland decide to start a guy with a broken finger on his throwing hand (who threw 4 int's and is STILL slated as their starter next week)over Culpepper? Could it be that he hasn't picked up the Oakland offense yet or that he just doesn't have what it takes? Either way those are perfect reasons why he is not here. Stop blaming and second guessing the coach for situations he had no control over. Waaahhhh he should have kept C pep because he MIGHT be better. This team sucked before Cam arrived and any one who has a brain knows that it is going to take at least three years to raise the Titanic. We just hit the iceburgh last year, you have to be patient with the new coach. Even Dan Marino said it,,,,,,patience!

This is a team in serious need of young talent. Armando in a separate article suggested trading some of our veterans like Jason Taylor for significant compensation in the draft. Why not? Put sentiment aside, you can't do business that way. The aim of the team should be to win games first! Management must realize that they will fill seats only if they put a quality product on the field. The team isn't getting any better with Jason on it, might as well ship him to a team that can use him.

We need youth and talent. The results may not be pretty at first, but once the system is in place and everybody gets used to each other, the team will start winning again. I will tell you what, we aren't going to win with a mix of washed up free agents along our defensive front and offensive line, aging veterans at key skill positions, and inexperienced rookies and young players all throughout. We've been post-poneing it for ten years, but it's time to re-build this team into a winner. Only way to do it is through the draft. That requires good scout work and good coaching.

I'm starting to think it's Huizenga. He loves these coaches who are really the same type--Wannstedt, Saban, Cameron--who really believe there's a way, and they know the way. They are guys that believe in their gut that they are right, even against all reality. Wanny believed in playing it safe, Ricky Williams up the middle three straight times, and he would tell you this is how you win football games. Saban believed in Culpepper. Cameron believes in Ginn. To the last DNA in their bodies, they believe they know the right way, but they are almost Bush-like in their lack of curiousity outside what they believe. Why in the world does Cameron go way out of his way to get a 37-year-old QB? Becaue he knows him. These guys are all stuck in the familiar, and I think Wayne likes this type of personality, and it's why we as Dolphin fans feel we are in an infinite loop. Get rid of Cameron, and he'll hire another guy, for sure, who will be absolutely sure of how you win football games. But then they will go about making quirky decisions that nobody else can understand, and have zero ability to think outside their own narrow, almost narcissistic view.

i told you so..

i was right when i said the dolphins should trade for randy moss...YES

i was right when i said cam is an overhyped offensive coordinator who is ruining the team...YES

i was right when i said trent was a lameass qb and that daunte was good to go if given the chance and better than trent interception green...YES

i was right when i said the dolphins will suck this year...YES

incredibly, this life-long dolphin fan is actually enjoying seeing the dolphins lose given the class-less way the randycam stupidity show has ripped this franchise to sheet. maybe this will give wayne the courage to boot cam and get a coach who values talent over buddies, winners over churchgoers, classiness over arrogance...

Armando: Day in and day out, it seems you are repeatedly bashing this team (and rightfully so... we're horrible). Reading your articles and listening to you on the radio I find myself agreeing with most of your comments; Ronnie Brown is average... our defense is old... management continues to make bad decisions. In light of this, how in the world is it that you provide such honest, unbiased commentary and then pick this team to go 10-6? Have you revisited your projected season schedule? Or do you remain optimistic that we'll turn it around?

I think we're done... I was expecting 7-9, maybe 8-8... but now I'm not sure 6-10 is an attainable goal...

Cam needs to DROP the Offensive Coordinators title. He needs to be the Head Coach first and foremost. I hate to say it but Mularkey needs to take over that job. I think Mularkey can do the job using Cam's playbook. Plus Mularkey gives the offense some checks and balances. Currenlty, Cam is judge, jury and executioner as to what happens on offense.

For a new head coach HE CANNOT DO BOTH RIGHT NOW. Coaches who have been around the league long enough can do it but Cam can not and should not.

What exactly does Cameron not like about Ronnie Brown? He runs hard, gets no blocking and is given only a few carries per game. Does Cameron not realize a #1 RB needs at least 15-20 carries per game to make a difference?

This coaching choice is so bizarre. He is a gutless coach who is so set on bringing in his own retread RB in Chatman, that he is losing a young, effective RB who has great potential in the NFL.

It's going to be a long year.

NYScott the tight end that beats his wife is no longer on the team so check your info before you type your crappy comments anyway who let a JET in here......

I never liked Sham Shamerons hiring but I supported it because I love the Dolphins but watch the game and watch how Sham goes away from what is working. Every good team in the NFL does the same thing when they find something that works they stick to it until the opposing defense stops them.
If you even watched the game on Sunday you can see the bad playcalling. I don't know what the problem is but there is a problem. Usually when there is a problem its usually starts at the top. Whether you HATERS like it or not there is plenty of talent on our offense. Chambers(just 2 years ago) and Booker (Chicago) have both been to Pro Bowls with crappy QBs throwing them the ball so can they return to that type of status I believe they can. Chambers this week had 9 catches for 109 (that is not so bad) Ronnie is no LT but has proven he can carry the ball and catch it but has to be on the field in order to do so. Trent Green is old and I have never liked him but he has the ability to get the ball to the players but he needs balance so that the offense is not so predictable. With a 13-10 lead on sunday SHAM went away from the gameplan and went to shotgun and put Green in a position to fail by putting the game in his hands and only in his hands. Green can not do it by himself. I believe we could not get the running game going in the first half because we kept trying to run outside. In the beginning of the 2nd half we made an adjustment and exploited the middle of the defense for a couple nice runs from Ronnie one for 8 yds then for 12 yds which in turn openned up the passing game which lead to the touchdown. That was not only our best drive but it was the longest position of the game that we had.(This one and the first scoring drive that lead to a field goal) Why you would go away from what seemed to work or atleast give it one more shot before going away from it and going to the shotgun maybe they went to the shotgun because Satale could not get the ball into greens hands otherwise. Well anyway I believe you go into the shotgun when you are playing from behind or if you need a quick score not when you have a 3 point lead. I believe that when you have a lead and even if its 3 points you want to kill clock run the same offense a little run a little pass not just pass pass pass. Sorry but for all you Brown haters he proved again that he was the best back we have by having a decent game concidering that he touched the ball 11 times 11 times that was including 2 receptions. that is not enough touches for a brusing back. Some of you will say you can't run the ball when you behind but I say you can run the ball when you have 3 point lead which we had the ball two more times before the cowboys took the lead and when they took the lead it was a 4 point lead and we still could have run the ball. There was at least 3 seris where we could have slowed the game down and try to grind it out a little. Which is what good teams with good coaches do. You put your team in a position to win. Sham did not do that Sunday. I personally hope he does a better job because I love the finnies and I want to see them succeed. I don't understand why some of you have so much faith in a guy who has failed to run the show in college and is not a proven winner or for that fact a proven coach. When I saw this hiring I thought that he was just a gap through coach. One that would coach this year because there were no good canidates. Hoping they would hire someone else next year. and I believe if things don't change like his undeniable love and believe in Trent Green and his ridiculous hate for Ronnie Brown. We will have a new coach next year.

First off , who makes more money the coach or the GM?? Ok then moving Cam to GM would be a demotion DUMBASS!!!

Next there are alot of you out there overlooking the big picture!! You act like you don't understand why we are bashing Cam, so let me help you!!!

When Cam was hired he didn't say its gonna take a few years and a couple of drafts just to get this team in playoff form! Which we all see to be the case!! Instead he did what he does best LIED!!!! the guy said this team was not in a rebuilding stage , and with a few additions ( key addition being his baby Trent Green)he would end our team's 5 year playoff drought!!!! With that being said this is why I'm so hard on Cam and Randy!!! Nobody put a gun to his head and forced him to lie , he told the owner and the fans exactly what they wanted to hear!!!And I plan on holding him accountable for what he said he would do. So you guys just keep making every excuse for the guy, and I'll keep criticizing Cam and his LIES!!!!!!!

I'm with you J Dizzle I also believe that they have alot to prove Sham has never been a winner and needs to call the game a bit smarter and as far as Randy all those who are complaining about the draft picks realize that randy has been there since wanny's last days so he has as much to blame about the picks as anyone. I just hope that Sham can keep it together soon and stop the hating. Give brown the ball and give him a breather once in a while with chatman which by the way the only one that has faith in him in the NFL is Sham because the guy could not make a team last year while Ronnie ran for 1000.

Andre,

Dolphins fans this is a sad day in our history. We're Definitely doomed into another season of disappointment. Horrible personnel decisions are costing us years and years of disappointment. We havent had a productive qb since #13 im not asking for another marino because they'll never be just someone who can move the offense and not turn the ball over. Close your eyes dolphins fans its gonna be another long season!!!!!!!

Anonymous, as I said on my show last night, I had higher expectations for this team because I was basing it on some logical assumptions:

1. That the defense would be better with Joey Porter, not older and less effective and unable to stop the run.

2. That Trent Green would play as he has most of his career and not throw FOUR int. in one game.

3. That Ted Ginn would upgrade the special teams. Geez, this team has two first round picks playing special teams and they're still not special. What up with that?

4. That if Miami could go 5-6 with Joey Harrington at QB and Mike Mularkey at OC, they could do better with Green and Cameron, who was the OC at San Diego.

So far, everything I expected has gone a different direction. Green stunk Sunday, Porter and Ginn have been invisible and the offense doesn't look in synch.

So am I backing off 10-6. That would mean they go 10-4 the rest of the way. How likely is that?

Exactly he needs to put his personal feelings for players and their families to the side and COACH!!! Every fan and NFL analyst said we got a steal with Lorenzo Booker but we haven't seen him out there yet, has he got on Cam's bad side for being cool with Ronnie??? What does Ronnie have to do to get more touches?? Maybe he should invite Cam to his next family reunion then he'll start warming up to the guy!!!! And for all the HYPE surrounding Ted Ginn Jr this guy still doesn't realize you can't return punts running zig-zag in the NFL!!!! Who eles out there feels like we gave away our best punt/kick returner/ the most active WR on our squad in Wes Welker?????

Here you guys go again... all those "fair weather" fans, complaining about anything and everything. Am I trying to argue the fact that Miami doesn't look very good after two games? No... But what bothers me is how many of you are ripping into everything Miami has done this year, AFTER ONLY TWO GAMES!!! We all know that a draft player's value (especially on a team that is not "one player away") can't be judged for 2-3 years after the draft. Yet, everyone complains that Ginn hasn't done anything in TWO REGULAR SEASON GAMES!!! Even more, you guys keep calling for Cam and Randy's heads because of how the season started, yet if Miami pulled something off, finished 10-6 or 11-5 as a Wild Card, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU who argue against Cam/Randy would be changing your tunes to how great they are & how you want them to stay for a long time. How about you learn to be true Miami Dolphins fans, take the good with the bad & support this team. Stop your bitching because your posts are nothing more than worthless pieces of space! And Armando, are you that "starving" for a story that you have to keep bashing the Dolphins or suggest that they trade away their best players for draft picks. Are you a New England fan, posing as a Dolphins fan, to stir up controversy? If you are a Miami fan, then stop making up stupid stories about trying to trade our great players and look into actually supporting this team?

Luke if you think for a second that this team is going to turn around and go 10-6 or 11-5 you don't know JACK about NFL football!!!!! Cam is being ripped for what he said he would do for this team!!! But just as the rest of the no questions asked Cam followers you're going to make every excuse for him you can think of!!! The guy said he would end the playoff drought, well we look very FAR from a playoff contending team!!!!

Wow Luke We all wish the same thing as you 10-6 11-5 Wow that would be awesome but the only one doing any hatin is the sham. Armando is just saying hes opinion from a logical standpoint he is not saying that he would like JT to leave look Sham blew the game and I hope is not the only one. as for the one player away I can tell you that we aren't one player away we are about 3 and that is two good lineman and 1 real good DB and I bet my balls we are in the playoffs
but instead of going after those needs we went after Sham's inlegitimate son to play Quarter back when we already had a guy that can play the position just as good and fine as Daddy's little boy but we let him go with out letting him compete and I do support Green but Green can't do it by himself he has NEVER been able to do it by himself he has always had a good running back Marshall Faulk, Priest Holmes, and LJ. Sham has to call a balanced game and let go of Ronnies leash if not it will be 4-12 if we are lucky. It's not that I don't support the dolphins (Five years of season tickets and when I moved to Orlando and I buy sunday Ticket just so I don't miss the five games they don't televise just like the dallas game) its that I do not like What Sham is doing and if he would turn it around I would be the first to write here that I was wrong. Sham did say that we where one player away from making the playoffs he never said that he was starting from scratch and rebuilding. what I don't understand where all this faith you have in Sham is coming from because he has never proven anything and not all draft picks take 2 or 3 years some contribute right away Randy Moss, Maurice Colston, Reggie Bush, Maurice Drew Jones, Barry Sanders, Devin Hester just to name a few. Most of those guys weren't even drafted top 9 and New Orleans got two of those guys in the same draft last year so if you know what your doing when you draft it can be done.
I would like Sham to succeed so I can call him Cam and I can have a Dolphin playoff party but until I see hes playcalling get better I'm going to feel the same way just make sure you watch the next game before you spourt out crap from your head. Finny fan since 79

The following is some interesting stats of Ronnie and show why Cam needs to feed him the ball. The O line has been suspect for a while and he still produced.

On his first five carries, Brown has averaged just 3.3 yards on 150 attempts. Long of 18 yards. Seven fumbles. Lost yardage on 28.7 percent of the runs. Double-digit gains on only 6.7 percent.

On carries six through 10, Brown has averaged 4.4 yards on 144 attempts. Long of 65 yards. No fumbles. Lost yardage on 14.6 percent of runs. Double-digit gains on 12.5 percent.

On carries 11 through 15, Brown has averaged 4.9 yards on 98 attempts. Long of 47 yards. No fumbles. Lost yardage on 18.4 percent of runs. Double-digit gains on 11.2 percent.

Now check his results from his 16th carry on.

He has averaged 4.8 yards on 78 attempts. Long of 58 yards. No fumbles. Lost yardage on 16.7 percent of runs. Double-digit gains on 10.3 percent.

That's because after 16 carries the Dolphins are usually getting blown out and teams are running dime defenses. Even your grandma running behind the sorry Dolphins O-line could average 5 yards a carry against a dime defense.

Mistakes are made but the Dolphins are not alone. Forget Chatman, call on Cobbs. Sure he is only 5'8 but we have had short RBs before. He showed good vison, explosiveness, and power in preseason. The running game has to get going and is key to ball control. That will open opportunities to Tedd Ginn Jr. Let's not make him another mistake for not optimizing his potential.

Wow. Now Cam "lied" because he said that he thought the team would be better than everyone was giving them credit for? What are you like 5 years old. Just looking for any reason to blame the new guy for the state of the Dolphins. If we were to get Cowher next year what would he do with this bunch? 8-8 or 7-9? Would you then blame Cowher for being an idiot? Cam didn't "lie" he was stating an opinion. For it to be a lie he would have to have a crystal ball and be able to see into the future to know that the team was going to be bad. Grow up. Also to the mental midget who said that Randy MicMichael was not on the team anymore,,,NO SHITE. I said Cam inherited these people, not that they were still on the team. Your reading comprehension is that of a fourth grader. Time to go back to school dummy.

Here in Mexico there are many dol fans, but we cannot get use to loose every week, and do nothing. Fans of Miami, only if you dont go to the stadium or buy Fins stuff, the Management will hire the right coaches and GM.

watching the fins for some time now,i realize some things.first its hard to overcome an nfl season when you change headcoaches and offensive coordinators( like changing diapers on an infant) over a course of how many years?you need stabilty in management.second thing i've noticed they keep picking up these has been,at the end of their career/backup style players.quarterbacks for example..im no expert never said i was but everytime we have a backup who seems promising we drop him. never giving him a chance.(aka damon huard, any position not just qb)now i understand a player has to fit your offensive/defensive schemes but with some players we've let go. they seem to always do better with other teams ect..sammy morris, larry izo,of course welker... da.asking the question what is miami's problem with identifying those players strengths/skills before and incorparating them into miami's strengths and weakness as a team.thirdly i feel if your going to draft a high draft pick you'd better use him, they're paying them top $ not to play special teams, or warm the bench. heck id warm the bench for the amount of money they're collecting. basicly in short, these trends keep going the way they are now, and miami will never amount to much for seasons to come.
go fins.
