Live blogging from chilly Foxboro today

FOXBORO -- Today's game is interesting only in that it gives the Dolphins a small chance to beat the Patriots and ruin for New England their chance at a perfect season.

Not likely to happen.

The real news is what is going on behind the scenes. Seems speculation that Bill Parcells is going to do this or that when he finally arrives on the Dolphins scene is running rampant. But let's be honest. Nobody knows for sure what is going to happen because even Parcells himself is not sure.

This much is certain: This weekend he talked to former Redskins and Texans general manager Charley Casserly and during that conversation, Casserly let Parcells know he would be interested in working for him in Miami. I don't know what Parcells' answered.

There is also much speculation that New England's Scott Pioli will be the next Miami GM. That is unlikely. The Patriots are not going to let him out of his contract and when Pioli does finally make a move, he'll want to go somewhere he's the No. 1 decision-maker. He would not be that in Miami. So the idea that Pioli is on the way because he's Parcells' son-in-law overplay the connection without considering business.

And as always, Dallas front office guy Jeff Ireland continues to be a consideration. One scenario I can tell you about is that Parcells does know and respect Randy Mueller and Mueller will have the chance to win Parcells over in the couple of months he will definitely work for him. Mueller is a good man, a fine personnel guy, so Parcells won't just dismiss him without considering him.

OK, join me in the comments section for the live blog.

Holy sweet monster of midway, this team blows so much butt. If I were Cam Cameron, I would not put the team back on the field for the 2nd half- citing potential injuries and inability to compete effectively. He should take every player and coach game check and use them to refund the NE Fans' tickets- and donate the rest of the remaining funds to the Dan Marino foundation. Then he should resign and suggest that the entire team do the same. It would be the right thing to do...

But Camarillo should be allowed to keep his job. But only him.

5:32 PM

Mando, I agree with anonymous about the short passes. When Marino threw his 9 short ones, he had no running game and thus everyone knew what was coming- so it was still challenging. Peyton and Tom had running games to keep the D on their toes- and they totally capitalized on that and padded their stats. You can't compare their accomplishments to what Dan did. The opposing defenses gameplanned for him and only him every week, and they still threw it down their throats...

If Dan had similar supporting casts (ie running back, defense, etc.), he would have had more rings than all of them combined. Don't be bashing Dan the Man unless you got the goods to back it up is all I gotta say...

If we had half a qb out there we would have at least 14 points on the board right now and be in great field position to score again.

Hey Carlos get a life and pull up your panties!

What do you expect the Pats to do.. roll over and let us score?

This isn't about class. This is about you getting your ass kicked and crying to your mommy about it!

Marino was a wuss in the big game. He played like sh*t in the superbowl, must have licked his hands 9000 times, and was crying at the end...in other words a p**sy.

Thanks, Mando- good news. Hopefully he'll be able to bring in Bill Cowher, Glen Dorsey, and Tim Tebow after he cleans some serious hizzy down there.

As a resident of Maryland, I'm being spared the coverage of this debacle. I'm getting coverage of a below average Seahawks team pounding the living snot out of the Ravens. Thank our lucky stars we had those sorry sacks on our schedule last week- or it woulda been 0-16 gauranteed...

Its going to be an interesting off season, wonder what theyre doing with the first pick, with Parcells in charge I doubt the Ginn debacle would repeat itself

Mike Greenburg says that Bill's first move should be to call Cleveland's GM and attempt "right the wrong that was comitted at last year's draft" and try to trade for BQ.
