Get used to the idea of Lemon as the starter this week

The chorus of fans and consensus of media opinion-makers has been that John Beck should be Miami's starter Sunday when the Buffalo Bills visit Dolphin Stadium.

Sorry, but coach Cam Cameron has gone with Cleo Lemon. Fact is, Lemon today, right now, remains Miami's starting quarterback. Cameron confirmed this about an hour ago. And unless something changes between now and Sunday, Lemon will be the starter versus the Bills.

So Cameron has heard your opinions, weighed all the facts, and ignored sound thinking. And his is the only opinion that really matters.

Seems the Dolphins coaching staff has convinced itself into believing Lemon is getting better as a player. You hear stupid, ridiculous things like "Cleo is starting to do some nice things with his feet," as one reason for keeping Lemon as the starter.

Never mind that Lemon is a free agent after this season and all Miami is doing by giving him more playing time is giving him an opportunity to showcase his nice feet for some other team.

Also part of the decision-making process is that the coaching staff apparently doesn't think John Beck is quite ready yet. That the second-round pick, at 26 years old, is not ready for action after nine weeks is kind of disappointing.

But disappointment is something the Dolphins have mastered this season.

Not surprising. I kind of had a feeling Lemon would start. I think we'll see Beck start when the Jets come to town.

This stubbornness is the very reason he may be fired at the end of the season. I don't give a damn about Lemon at this point because he is not our future starter. We need to find out if Beck is worthy of a high second-round pick and is the franchise's future. Delaying his ability to learn on the job only delays the number of years before this franchise returns to being competitive in the NFL.

At this rate, Lemon is playing himself into a backup QB role anyway. He has not shown the ability to inspire and lead a team, much less make plays to win games. He looks more like the fumble-plagued Culpepper of this year than anybody else.

Well the Lemon has been squeezed, but maybe we can get lucky and the lemon will get crushed and then we will see John Beck play vs. the Bills this coming Sunday. Lemon, is nothing more then a 3rd String / Scout Team Quarterback. He isn't good enough to be the starting quarterback for any team.

I'm all for keeping Cam around for years to come no matter what happens this season UNLESS Beck isn't named the starter ASAP! To me, this is a severe lack of common sense and judgement. If Beck isn't the starter soon, I can't argue w/ anyone calling for his firing!

Two questions. Do the Dolphins even have a third QB on the roster or at least on the practice squad? And, if Cleo Lemon gets injured, do we go with John Beck or Marty Booker? At this point, I'm not even being facetious with that second question.

Hummm, I'm on the fence Armando... Rushing Beck could be as disastrous as this season has proved to be. But at the same time we need to see if this guy can play in the NFL before the draft.

To the anonymous guy, I don't think Cameron is a Mormon, Beck is the Mormon. But you make a good point, Miami needs to have some swagger more in tune with the area and I don't see Cameron having much swagger. Perhaps this is what Wayne has been doing wrong in these coaching selections. He's always after these upstanding citizens when he should be going after someone with a little moxy.

Back to Beck, throwing him to the wolves if he is not ready will ruin his confidence. We just don't know whether he is ready. As Armando said only Cameron can make that call and he's a little gun shy after Shuler tanked in Washington. He watched the maturation of Brees in SD and it took 3 years.

Beck is 26, if they wanted to bring him along like a normal rookie they should have drafted a 22 year old.

Hmm,

Do I listen to a coach who works with the two guys everyday and has a proven track record in developing QB's?

Or do I listen to a reporter's blog and his clearly biased thoughts which are written in such a way that will invoke the fury of the idiot masses?

Hmm, so many choices...

I think we have more time than some people are letting on. This week is not the end-all chance to get Beck in there. We have 8 games left. I think it is fair enough to give Lemon a few more games. I think we do need to see Beck for at least 4 games this year though.

Armando, why do you insist on trying to stir up problems for the Dolphins with your blogs? I mean, that seems like all you are trying to do is get people mad & start complaining about this team.

I agree with most of the masses that we need to see what John Beck can do for this team & was hoping that his time would come for this weekend's game against Buffalo. Here are a few ideas to ponder over:

- Just because Lemon is #1 on the depth chart today, DOESN'T MEAN HE WILL BE TOMORROW. And it could be a "ploy" to make Buffalo think we will go with Lemon, game planning for him, and at the last second, throw in Beck.

- IT'S NOT THE END OF THE SEASON! We have 8 games left, not 1 or 2. So, there is still plenty of time to see John Beck in another game or two. And if you put him in too soon, you WILL RUIN him for the future. He will lose all confidence & may never recover.

- And finally... Everyone (realistically) knew that this would be a difficult, rebuilding year for Miami. But everyone wants to ride Cameron because he didn't perform a miracle. The man has had one season to install a new offense & get everyone on the same page. Mueller has had only one season where he was in control of player personnel & yet you are "head-hunting" already on him too. Give the man a break & a couple of years to get his system in place before you toss him out like yesterday's garbage.

And one more thing, to Armando & every "anonymous" poster who is too afraid to put their names on here... you talk about having such a revolving door of players & never having any consistency, but yet you keep wanting the SAME THING... what do you think removing another coach/GM is going to do??? CAUSE MORE INCONSISTENCY & MORE PAIN!!! Get a clue, morons!

Folks, it does not matter who starts at QB, the result will be the same. Neither Beck nor Lemon has half the talent Marino had. Sorry to say.

Just am not impressed with Beck, he looks like a lightweight. Lemon, well he is a lemon.

Dolphins need to look for another alternative, and soon. I mean, if Beck was the next great one I'd be fairly certain he'd be the QB right now and not a lemon.

In my view, even if Beck peforms good-to-decent whenever if ever he plays the Dolphins should still draft a QB high up to foster some good, real competition.

This is hard to believe. If Lemon gives us the best chance to win, than Beck must be a really sorry qb. If he can't beat out Lemon then it's time to give up on the Dolphins. I am tired of this crap that every year we have to look for a qb. Did they draft Beck to be a backup? Then stick him in there before the season is over. There's nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain. Who gives a crap if they win one game with Lemon? If they plan on giving Lemon a long term contract then the Dolphins are in trouble for the foreseeable future. If not then they are wasting valuable training time for Beck. I've stuck with this team through the worse times, but I have had it. This just drives the nail in the coffin. Don't the Dolphins realize that people can follow any team they want with directv's NFL package? Nobody is restricted to following only the Dolphins. There is such a thing as choice today. What the hell is wrong with the Dolphins?

Religion has nothing to do with talent and the ability to lead a team. I see Beck as the next Bob Griese but with a stronger arm. If he can lead us to three straight Super Bowl victories, then that would be sweet!!

I have always said that Lemon is not the guy and they made a mistake by letting Harrington go.
AT least Harrington would have gotten us some wins by now.

I totally agree with this being a dress rehearsal for Lemon, who will be used as trade bait after this season. What they will get for him if anything at all, remains to be seen.

"He has done some nice things" and "he gives us the best chance to win" are two of the biggest cliche/cop-outs that NFL coaches use every year.

This decision has left me with zero confidence that this franchise can get turned around with the leadership currently in place.

You wanna see ugly? Let Cameron have imput on the slew of high round draft picks that Miami will accumulate over the next few years. With his decision-making skills, we will surely become the Detroit Lions of this century.

How much can Beck really progress in practice? Without live reps he is always going to be chasing Lemon. Give the guy the opportunity to get in there with the opportunity to grow. How much more is he really going to grow while on the sidelines? The Guy showed the ability to move the team for comeback victories in the preseason. Sure he did it against scrubs, but he did with scrubs too. He might be one of those guys who play better in a game situation than in practice. He finds a way to move the team.

Cleo Lemon is obviously going to improve too with game snaps as well, but there appears to be a lower ceiling on just how good he can get. Beck seems to have more potential. His arm and release are the best in town since Marino.

I am also tired of hearing about Heath Shuler struggling as a rookie. As I recall, Shuler was the first round pick of the Redskins in that draft, and he did have some monster struggles. The Redskins seventh round pick, also a QB and also a rookie name Gus Frerotte , played better and actually won some games. Gus has also played more than a decade in the league. All things considered—both Quarterbacks were rookies, same team, same year, etc.—only one guy had an NFL future while the other guy did not. Why did playing Frerotte early not destroy his confidence and send him into shell shock?

Look at Alex Smith in San Francisco. That guy had to be the worst QB I have ever seen, but he did get better eventually. The 49ers benched Tim Rattay, who certainly gave them a better chance to win than Smith did. Cameron needs to show some guts and take some lumps with a rookie QB who learns on the job.

How in the world does a player without the proper form even make it in the NFL. Quarterback 101 - plant your feet before you throw the ball!!! Lemon looks like tinkerbell when he's throwing the ball. Doesn't anyone notice??? Enough is enough!!! Beck should be gaining the experience he will need for the next season. Lemon cannot possibly be in the Phins future. Anyways to win games we need the defense to play basic football and give up all the fancy crap. It's just not working. THE DEFENSE IS THE PROBLEM!!!!

I am more impressed with Cam all the time. His balls are bigger than Armando's whole body. All the idiot blogs are screaming for Beck, but Cam does what he thinks is best for the long term. For the first time since Shula we have a coach who is more concerned about the team than about his image and what people think of him. It's the same as taking Ginn over Quinn. He could have gone the popular way, but he did what he thought was right. That is how we will get back to being a quality franchise. If Huizenga fires Coach Cojones after one year, the Dolphins won't deserve to win another game as long as he owns the team.

2:20 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who best that the coach to determine if Beck is ready. Chill.

Next year should be a good draft class. It is a good year to be the worse team in the NFL. Remember, New England lost its number 1 draft pick. The team that has the overall number 1 draft pick will pick the 1, 32 and 64 pick. For the Dolphins, it would mean 2 first rounder and 2 second rounder. They should be able to pick a good defensive tackle, and a decent corner, middle linebacker, and safety.

Hey Armando... I really makes sense to start Cleo this next game. Coming off a bye, and facing a very weak team, gives him the fairest chance to win the game, and the best chance for the team to not go 0 - 16. My gut tells me this is his last chance, and after the next loss then the Beck era will begin.

AMEN Swifty!

The one constant I hate about my beloved Phins...is you so called "fans". MOST of you that is.

Anyone on here ever heard of A. Randle El? Have you ever looked at what he did in college? Go take a look fools. How about D. Brees? P. Rivers? OUR coach...grommed ALL of them. The ding dong above who bashed Cam for his stint at IU is CLUELESS! PERIOD! I'm a born and raised HOOSIER. IU is a basketball school PERIOD, and always will be. Cam was NOT the reason we didn't win when he coached. Cam knows more about grooming QB's than ALL of us combined! (Including YOU Armando!)

Carson Palmer, Steve McNair, Phillip Rivers, Tony Romo, and Brett Favre! To name a few who sat on the pine their rookie season. How about Steve Young? Drafted by the USFL...then went 2-14 in his following two years at the Bucs. Here's a quote of what followed: "When the Buccaneers selected University of Miami quarterback Vinny Testaverde first overall in the 1987 NFL Draft, Young was deemed a bust and traded to the San Francisco 49ers on April 24, 1987, to serve as a backup to Joe Montana. The Buccaneers received 2nd and 4th round draft picks in the trade."

So...that would make Steve Young roughly 25-26 when he joined the 49ers.

Would any of you morons say "Steve Young is too old...what a waste...why did we trade for him?" If you were 49er fans? NO!

So if Beck sits ALL year...and then starts next year...and wins a SB or three...was he "too old" and we should have drafted a "22 yr. old" instead?

GIVE IT A REST.

And to the guy above who said he's tired of rooting for the Phins and can follow anyone with Direct TV...GO...FAST...PLEASE. Find another team. Because with every one of you fair weather "fans" who says that...when you get off the band wagon...the REAL fans are ripping your seats out and pitching them. We're tired of all of you!

You gotta be fricking kidding me. This season is over we need to look toward the future. We need to see what Beck can do. This would have been a perfect opportunity coming off a bye against a team that we can beat. If Beck were starting I'd think this would be a winnable game with Lemon I know we will loose. He'll fumble the ball or miss a wide open receiver in the most critical of times.

I was certain Beck would get the start. I was very excited about giving him HALF a season to prepare for next year and beyond. This year is meaningless let him play and learn we've got NOTHING to loose. So should we play him the last four games against New England D and Baltimore. If Lemon is not impressing by the half put Beck in.

Wayne FIRE Cam. I had faith but with all the misleading and obvious favoritism he needs to go. Bring in Marty or Cowher, hell maybe even John Fox. But Cam needs to go.

The year isn't over people. There is still a chance that we'll get to see Beck on the field, so have a little patience. Just let the coach, who knows Beck's (and Lemon's) abilities better than even Armando, decide when the right time to start the rookie is.

I've been trying to tell you people that starting Cleo was a strong possibility, but you only want to throw the rookie under the bus. Fools!

We, we, we, we. That's more than half of what I hear from the fair weather fans. None of you actually play for the Dolphins. Or even coach or probably play football for that matter. Does the frustration of the season that we ALL feel mean that we know more about who should start at quarterback? Just because fans who have rightly given up on the season want to see something different right now does'nt mean they should be given that.
Beck will be ready when Cam says he will. I'm not going to kill this guy for not winning just because we all had rose colored glasses on at the beginning of the season about where the team should be at this point. The Phins have been sucking for awhile now. So we rebuild. Other franchises have sucked for much longer. We need stability. Not more coaching changes and bad drafts. Drafts sometimes don't add up to anything for a few years.
Too many itchy trigger fingers on this blog. And it would be nice if you would'nt stir this awful pot of angry fans all the time, Armando.
As a long time Phins fan, I have to say that the negativity of losing has been enough. I don't need to read about how much the Phins suck all the time. I dread reading the articles and the comments, but even more so, I cringe when all I read is "AAHHH! YEEARGH! FUUUCK! KILL!!! Hey fans! C'mon. Also, I like that he is not being suaded by the clamoring fandoom. I loved it when he kicked Culpepper off the football field, that was a Shula move. So my jury is not in on him.

Look it's going to take a while to get back to competitive football after Wannstedt disseminated the team. We just have to bare with being bottom feeders for a while, which is hard to do when we have been spoiled by so much success.

I rather watch a guy struggle and hope for the future than watch silly ass lemon get away from two sacks (because he held the ball too long) and then underthrow the ball off of his back foot.

They need someone in there to light fires under porter's old ass and all of our recievers. Seriously...u drop the ball, then run laps around the field...or refund some fan for their tickets their gas, their parking, and the eights beers they had to drink watching this game.

hey tom@jax, don't let the door hit you on the way out... I don't think we should assume that Lemon has no future with this team... just because he is scheduled to be a free agent, doesn't mean we can't sign him before March 1st... although he hasn't done very well yet, I have seen improvement from his first start and think he could be a viable 2nd stringer in the future... we know Beck will be here for sure, so a couple games more or less this year doesn't matter... the jets game would be a good time to get him in... and I too applaud Cam for not bowing to the pressure from media and fans to do his job a certain way...

This really stinks.
Cam is a cowardly, incompetent Head Coach, more concerned with salvaging his job for next year then preparing the groundwork for a positive season in 08.

He is not doing the right thing for the Franchise. Who cares if we are 0-16 or 2-16? Nobody. The Cam/Randy Tandem is a bust & they can’t hide behind not playing (the Secret Weapons) Booker & Beck.

Can’t imagine why Huizenga hasn't directly intervened.

I've been a loyal fan since the first game they ever played, but I will not watch another Dolphin game until they fire or control this Idiot Duo CamRandy.
These Clowns are blatantly destroying the rest of the season as they scramble save their jobs at the expense of the Franchise best interest, spinning & deceiving all the way.
These people don't belong here.
When they leave they should take Capers, Armstrong & Porter with them. Clean house!
Where is Wayne? Start Beck.

Lemon is a journeyman backup. If Beck doesn't have it to be the Franchise QB we need to know now so we can draft one. If he does have the makings then he needs to make his bone s now, when his learning curve won't screw up a good season. Groom Beck in the game. Only reason not to do so is they are afraid they made another mistake & are trying to cover it up.

Cam must think somehow that starting Lemon over Beck will guarantee his job for at least one more year. I can't remember (and maybe I'm too young) any head coach being fired after only one season. Like it or not, Cam will likely be back next year. I think we will see Beck at some point this season, I'll just be glad when it happens. BTW.. if my memory serves me correctly the last rookie QB we put in went on to have a pretty good 2nd year...but that was a looooong time ago. The fins will return!!

Go Dolphins..

I am no Cameron hater, I have at times defended his decisions, and to this point believed he was the right man for the job here in Miami. Good coaches find ways to win no matter the situation, and he has failed no matter the situation. I understand that it is far too early to tell, and that he should not be judged for this organizations past mistakes, but as a fan I can no longer turn my cheek on him. We need a win, badly, even for history sake but if look back we could have had at least one. Suspect play calling, no motivation, and lack of discipline are our biggest problems right now. He has not had a chance to bring in his players yet or prove he can get it done through the draft, but he’s had the opportunity to fix or address the other 3 issues. Now if he sticks with Cleo, he might further hurt this teams future for the promise of now. To this point I thought he might be the guy for the job, but now I am starting to see that maybe he is way over his head, way too inexperienced, and way to pessimistic to coach an 0-8 team.

Hey Rio,

If you're going to make foolish comments like "He is not doing the right thing for the Franchise. Who cares if we are 0-16 or 2-16?", would you at least take the two seconds you'd need to realize that your math sucks just as badly as your opinion.

It's quite scary to see how rude and personal a lot of the people defending the teams' actions are getting on this comment board. If you were true Dolphins fans, you would focus on the team and not disrespecting other fans of the same team.

Now that that is out of the way, my own personal opinion is to echo what some others have said, but I feel is the real issue here:

With keeping Cleo at QB, keeping Beck on the sideline following the bye, and talking constantly about "wanting to win now" the franchise is sending out the clear message that they care more about not being the first 0-16 team in history (Bucs went 0-14) than their future.

The winless fate is one for the history books, and would immediately toss a comma at the end of the sentence "The NFL's only undefeated team," instead of a period.

While that is quite daunting, I love the Dolphins and want them to succeed in the future so my kids aren't embarrassed. Personally, I do not agree with this decision at all.

Alright LaQuin,

Loved the post, and you're exactly right about the posts on these blogs. What these fools like ClarkBar84 don't realize, because they don't PAY ATTENTION, is that Armando uses his articles just to get a rise out of his HATER army, and stir up discontent among the fans.

Yes, people, losing sucks, but even as bad as this team is, they have been compteing in all but one or two games this season. The biggest problem with the Dolphins has been the inability to stop opposing teams Offenses. Cam/Randy haven't had a chance to address that side of the ball yet, because until their arrival, the Offense was bad, bad, bad. I think we've all seen the improvements they have made there, so let's be patient. It's not going to happen overnight.

Seriously, if you can't take the pain of watching the team struggle, then take a vacation for a couple of years. Those of us who want to be here through the rebuild are getting sick and damn tired of your whining.

Black and Blue Jor,

We are getting rude and personal with the HATERS because they have become rude and personal against the Dolphins, it's players, and it's coaches, and I, for one, am sick of people making comments like the first two words in the very first post on this blog. Whether you agree with Cam's decision or not, I give him major props for doing with HE believes is in the best interest of the TEAM.

What do you know, it was a cowardly anonymous poster that said it too. If they can be personal against MY team, then I will get personal right back at them.

By the way, the team is always going to try to win, so the wanting to win now should come as no surprise.

If the HATER fans disrespect the team, then I will disrespect them.

Look people, I was as pissed as anyone when I first read the news. But lets stop and think a moment.....
What did Cameron do with Ronnie in the preseason? He basically called him out and said, if you want the starting job then you better come take it. Ronnie took it and ran like hell with it!
Perhaps he is waiting for the same from Beck. He's waiting for Beck to come TAKE the job. The QB needs to be a leader. Great leaders TAKE what they want, it isn't given to them. I think Cameron is waiting.....and probably hoping, that Beck will come in his office, slam his fist on the desk and tell Cameron, " This is my team now!"
Lets just hope he uses his non throwing hand when he does it...ahahah

NEXT...what part of THIS don't you understand:

~Cam is holding out Beck because HE FEELS ITS WHAT'S BEST FOR THE LONG TERM FUTURE OF THIS FRANCHISE. Some of you keep saying "Cam is only concernd about the now and that's why he's not playing Beck". Puuuuuhlease! You couldn't get FARTHER from the truth. If all he cared about was right now he'd play Beck just to fill the stands! He is doing what is best for JOHN BECK, AND what's best for the DOLPHINS LONG TERM.

WAKE UP some of you!

I am glad to see there are a few real FANS on here who have some level heads!

OH, and I forgot...Belicheat had 4 losing seasons in his first 5 years!

Quit judgint Cam on his college stint as a head coach. IF that comparison carried ANY weight SABAN and SPURRIER would still be in the NFL taking their teams to the SB every year!

I'm sure the coach knows better and yadi yada yada.... whatever, but we as fans have a right to specific information about the team we support ($$$$). I can't take anymore of "he gives us the best chance to win this week". What exactly is Beck doing in practice to make Lemon look like the guy that gives any NFL team the "best chance to win" on any week?

I understand Cam isn't trying to win popularity contests, but it's almost like he's trying to keep his own fans guessing. I'm tired of generic answers to specific questions.

9:40 PM

I admit that I am disappointed in not starting Beck this upcoming week. But there must be some good reasons as to why Cam will not start him. Since Lemon is a free agent this year we need to know if he should be tendered an offer. So a couple more games to see if he's worth anything won't kill Beck's learning this year. If Lemom does ok the next game or two, it could help us get maybe another 7th rounder at least. I believe that Beck will be good for us. If we put him in now and he wins 3-4 games out of the next 8 that will lower our draft pick this off season and would hurt the team. 5-6 games will be a good predictor of Beck's future, so 1-2 more Lemon games won't kill us. Rebuild now, do it fast through the draft, and get our respectability back!

this is a little off topic, but given that mostly everyone wants to see beck, perhaps a good change of pace:

1. If fins are going to trade players a la Chambers (and hopefully jason taylor, etc.), they need to hold out for 2 picks, even if one is a 7th rounder. They need a lot of help, and you can sometimes get lucky late.

2. the round of the pick is somewhat deceiving. the pats 2nd rounder for welker is the same as the fins 3rd rounder. the fins 5th rounder for green is the same as the pats fourth rounder.

3. Mando--I'd like to see a player by player analysis of the Pats vs. the fins. how many A grade, B grade, etc. players does each team have at each position. This would give some sense of how far this team has to go.

4. Mando (sorry more work)--if the fins had picked whomever mel kiper had suggested in the first 2 rounds of the last 7 drafts, who would they have ended up with instead of the stiffs they actually drafted? bc maybe the whole value of having a GM who makes personnel decisions is vastly overrated.

10:37 PM

When the Fins look across the field this weekend, they'll see a Buffalo team that wasn't afraid to play a rookie QB - and Trent Edwards actually won the job until he got injured. Cameron needs to throw the kid into the pool and see if he can swim.

10:41 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Trent Edwards was put in because JP Losman got injured. the only other QB they have is Gibran Hamdan. and with 1 td aginst 5 INT's in 4 games, you could say it was a bit too early for Edwards.

You know what this is funny. It's funny because Coach Cameron basically told you idiots, "I run the team, you don't. I'm starting Cleo, and I'll start Beck when's he's ready, not when you MMQB's say he's ready."

South Florida possibly has the worst fans in all of sports, and the proof of that is right here on this blog. You may be called on to love your neighbor, the Miami Dolphins, but your words and articles come across as anything but that. I understand that you are paid to share your opinion, but your opinion only serves to fuel comments like the first post that was deleted. I do enjoy some of your articles Armando, but you and LaBatard feed the flames of discontented fans. Most especially the ones that lack any football sense. How about an article on Jesse Chatman? Or on John Beck, since everyone is clamoring for a piece of him.

I've said that I wanted to see Beck start against Buffalo, but I also have the patience to let Cameron, who has done some excellent coaching this year (even without a win to show for it), decide when the right time is instead of deciding in my own head what's best for Beck and the team.

OK DrumFinFan I'll single you at since you had the "class" to do it to me. I am not a hater or fool or ignorant nor am I a member of Armando's "hater army". Whatever the hell that is. I don't even read him that much this is MY own feelings or belief. I don't follow the leader whether it be Armando or CAM! I was just looking at this ONE situation.

I have and will always SUPPORT this team. Throughout their rebuilding process until they become a contender again. DON'T YOU DARE accuse me of leaving this team and come back when they are good. You don't know anything about what kind of fan I am because of ONE opinion!

I just spoke my DAMN OPINION on this one subject. I can't just say " GO Cam " and pretend everything is great because he screwed up on this. Cause I don't know if you've noticed but we haven't had a QB in about 9 years, and we need to find one Cleo is just another Feeley, Gus, Griese, Fiedler etc. ok DrumFinFan I'll single you out since you had the "class" to do it to me. First of I am not a fool or a "hater". I have been paying attention to this team for a long time not to mention the past 5 or 6 years which have been very difficult for all of us Dolphins fans.

The Miami Dolphins are my favorite sports team I badly want them to not just win a g but a championship. I'm also a HUGE Red Sox( have been since they were in last and mike Greenwell was their best player, in case you try that "fair weather fan" BS) fan BUT I would trade this past World Series win for ONE Dolphins win this season!!!!!

I am in no way trying to affect how anyone feels about the Dolphins. I have a positive outlook for the future of this team. This is THE FIRST time I've thought negatively about a decision ANY coach of this team has made. Read my post again does it really make more sense to start Beck with four games left them throw him against the D of New England and Baltimore. It would be much better if he had a few games under his belt. This is THE ONLY subject I feel negatively about. I can't DRINK the Kool-aid on this one no sir.

It makes me laugh that people would call me a " fair weather fan". I am anything but that I've supported the team I just disagree on this ONE issue. Take a chill pill!

"HATER" I could never hate this team. You can't tell me that if we had a chance to hire Bill Cowher and fire Cam you wouldn't do it.

There's nothing wrong with your opinion as long as you allow me to voice MINE. It's not " your either with us or against us" I have and will never be a fair weather fan. BUT I will NEVER hid from the truth and put a positive spin on things.

I'm glad to see that you are passionate about the Dolphins. Even more glad that you could make a valid argument.

Let's agree to disagree on this, because if I could hire Cowher, I would probably still stick with Cameron. Period! I love the strides he's made with the Offense this year (yes, even without wins to back him up), and I think he has earned a few years to prove himself, not just a few games.

Like I, and many others have said, Cowher is not the end all, be all of NFL coaching. Now, if you wanted to bring Parcells in as a talent evaluator (not GM), I'm in, but Cowher, no sir, uh uh.

I'm not hiding from any truths, so keep feeding me the Kool-Aid.
