Your chance to ask Cameron questions

You can ask Dolphins coach Cam Cameron some questions Friday. How? Post them here before noon Friday and I will pick the best ones and ask them.

Cameron will be at the Super Bowl media center Friday.

Personally, I'd like to know if those rumors about him thinking Cleo Lemon is Miami's starter are really true.

Hi Armando,

My question to Coach Cameron would be how do you focus your attention on the offense, in terms of the system, the players and the discipline without neglecting the defense? Whilst the starting unit had a great year (3rd overall I think?) and produced the NFL's defensive player of the year, there is next to no depth on the chart and we all know it's an aging (aged?) unit.

I look back on the dolphins of the early to mid 90's and remember a potent offense which was often let down by an average defense.

Hey Armando..

Here are 2 really popular questions I'm sure you HAVE to ask.

1) Is he going to welcome Ricky Williams back, and if so, will he institute a split carry system or have him be the backup ala Michael Turner.

2) Will he gives Marcus Vick a chance to play for him or will he automatically cut him due to recent family matters.

HE MUST DRAFT TEDDY GINN JR. Please influence him on this !

Last season the Dolphins passed almost 70 percent of their pass attempts out of the shotgun formation. This meant that on plays where the offense does not show a shotgun, the team ran the ball 2/3rds of the time. As a former offensive coordinator, do you feel a defense has a significant advantage when they can use the shotgun formation as an indicator of whether the team is running or passing the ball, and be correct about 3 out of 4 times? Do you feel that, outside of special situations, it is important for defenses to believe that a run is just as likely as a pass, prior to the snap?

I feel we need to 'win the offseason' to have a chance in the 2007 season.
What are your plans to draft and aquire thru free agency a top caliber quarterback?
Will you cut/trade players to give salary cap room + aquire difference makers on offense?
How do we go from being predictable on offense to a quick-strike, explosive offense as you indicated that is 'designed to score on every play'?

1. Given the personnel currently on the roster, what are your initial thoughts on Miami's offensive philosophy for the upcoming season?

2. Can you share your thoughts and opinions on how Randy McMichael, Chris Chambers, Ronnie Brown fit into this?

3. What are your thoughts on Ricky Williams and his potential return to Miami?

4. What are your initial thoughts on our areas of need (in order) as we head toward the 2007 Draft?

Thanks Armando!
Tom in Nashville

Hey Armando,

If you could, see if you could run these questions by Coach Cameron.

1. Coach, since you've been here, have you been able to talk to Daunte Culpepper? If so, what are your impressions of him as a person?

2. Coach, how much do you know about the progress of Daunte's knee rehibilitation? Do you have any updates at this time?

Ask him if he's had a chance to look at some of the yound dt's that Saban drafted but never let play, and what he thinks o fthem. Also, ask him how aggressive he plans on being in FA and what one area he thinks the team could improve in most.

Wow, Chris great question. But I might have to copy it and read it off a script to remember.

In the San Diego Divisional Playoff game against the Patriots why was the run abandoned in the second half of the game, when it was working so good against the Patriots run defense? Did you anticipate a half time adjustment on Belicheck's part and thus go a different direction in your gameplan? Also how excited are you with having Ricky and Ronnie in the backfield this coming year?

Coach Cameron, Jaguars Head Coach Jake Del Rio and 49er's Head Coach Mike Nolan both wore suits on the sideline this past season. How would you feel about wearing a suit on the sideline this upcoming season or in future seasons?

Armando-
My primary concerns regarding the offense are the offensive line and the health of Daunte. Please ask where Mr. Cameron plans to make changes to the offensive line and how he will pursue them. What is the prognosis on Daunte? Fans have not heard much about his rehab in quite sometime. Does he anticipate Daunte as the starting QB next year?
Also, it is said that Daunte is more of a gifted athlete than a student of the game. Will he encourage Daunte to transform his game and if so how?

Thanks for the opportunity Armando. What will be coach Cameron's approach to personnel from a strategic stand point? We've been in a pattern of thinking we are just a few players away from being competitive. This approach has not produced results. Will coach stay with this strategy or will he begin the rebuilding process?

My question for Cameron is: It was made clear that Miami wanted a coach in place before the Senior Bowl so they could not only scout players for the upcoming draft but also to check on potential coaches for their staff. by not attending the senior bowl, and not filling out the staff do you feel like you are letting the team and fans down.

Welcome to the Fins!! Questions, what is your opinion on the QB situation? I find it funny reading everything now and everyone is right back to where they were last off season, Daunte is great, and Daunte this, but back in October there was a different tune. I would be very disappointed if it was a competition for the position. Because of stats in 2004, I don't think anyone should be given the job in 2007. I personally think that Joey Harrington did a good job considering the circumstances. He wasn't great but he did show more promise that either Cleo or Daunte. Cleo didn't do anything great. I don't think that Chris Chambers should be running his mouth about who the QB should be. He never has said anything good about Harrington, and the bottom line is, he dropped the ball too much. Films tell it all. Maybe the QB would have felt more confident throwing the ball if the big receiver would catch it. I think that Harrington has such a quick release with zip on it that the receivers need to learn to adjust to his style. I think there is some racist issues between this receiver and a white QB. Draft receivers and get rid of the trash aboard. What a disaster it would be to start the year off the same way and let Daunte stink things up and then hand it over to whoever Cleo/Joey and then the fans want to blame them for not making the playoffs. The mediocore seasons is at blame with the coaching staff and the fans. New Orleans was happy to get Drew, but they weren't talking superbowl and making madden videos with someone that hasn't proven himself with that team. Shall the best man win...

Someone may have already asked this but what does coach Cameron feel our three biggest needs are with free agency and the draft approaching. What will they address first?

My question is: "Coach Cameron-inconsistency has been one of the offense's biggest problems the last few years. This obviously has a lot to do with changeovers occuring with coordinators/head coaches/etc. With the defense performing at a fairly high level now, how do you plan to get the offense up to the same level as our need-to-win-now defense?"

Ask Cameron how many "high-priced" free agents is Miami willing to sign: 1 or 2?

Hey Armando,

Ask him if they are going to pursue an OLineman, Clements, or Thomas via FA should they hit the market...

Armando... I know this is late, but if you have a chance to over look. I just got home from the hospital this evening, and I was not able to view your posts, since Tuesday night.

My questions for Cameron are how does he define depth within a team? If he is going to evaluate all on the team in a equal ratio, or design specifics for which he is inclinde to develop?

It was recently reports on signonsandiego.com that
"NFL Creative Director Shandon Melvin...was working on new logo designs for the league, as well as for the Miami Dolphins and the Chargers."

Will the Dolphins be once again updating their logo and/or uniforms??

i would like to know if coach cameron is going to give piority to the offensive line? if you dominate the line of scrimage in the nfl you will have a very high successfull out come for the running game, and the passing game! what is the offensive line position/ or positions that need to be filled? and in free agency will he address this question, or in the draft, also will he answer the wide receiver problem of a game breaking wide receiver to complement chambers?
