Live blogging today during the game, yeah!

I'm excited about today's game against New England.

I am not a masochist. I enjoy good football and I'm sure we can all agree the Patriots play good football practically every time they take the field.

But my excitement goes beyond watching the Pats. I will be very interested to see how the Dolphins play, and particularly how the youngest Dolphins play. I wrote today that this is an exciting time for the Dolphins because, starting today, we finally see some up-and-coming players get a chance to show what they got.

Please read the column here: http://www.miamiherald.com/1190/story/279093.html

In my opinion, Dolphins fans now have to watch games with a focus that stretches beyond the score. Let's face it, this season is lost. But even if the Dolphins continue to lose (and they will) it will be interesting to find out about Ted Ginn Jr. and Jason Allen and Lorenzo Booker and, eventually, John Beck. That interests me because it will give a glimpse of the future.

I hope it interests you also. I also hope you are interested enough to spend the game hanging out here, giving YOUR analysis of what is happening, getting mine, and generally having fun with other fans and readers. The live blog starts at kickoff.

The Patriots have already downgraded five players as being out. They are LB Eric Alexander, S Mel Mitchell, RB Sammy Morris, TE Benjamin Watson, and DE Mike Wright.

I'll be back later, though, with the inactives and any pregame update.

(Update: Lorenzo Booker, who worked some at receiver this week, is not active today. Here wee go)

Armando, I just saw on ESPN, that Ted Ginn Jr. would be making his first start in today's game. Can you confirm this?

Armando, why is it the Herald is always LAST with the big news. The Chambers trade was on the Sentinel, Sports Illustrated and ESPN sites long before it appeared here.

Also, you previously asked for comments about making the blog better, which we agreed the messages should be most recent on top and the screen should auto update so there is no need to keep refreshing the page. As a programmer, I can tell you these changes should be quite easy for the Herald web developers.

Good intro Armando, I look forward to seeing how our younger players play as well. After the last 5 years or so, I am glad that the team will finally rebuild, as the treading water plan never worked. Get young, get draft picks, and get cap space. No where to go but up, right?

Armando, here was my experience: I saw the Chambers trade on the SI site so I then checked this site and didn't see it. Then I checked the Sentinal and saw it, checked ESPN and saw it, came back here and still didn't see it. Could be that I am blind, or could be it wasn't here first. Not a big deal though, I was just curious.

This guy couldn't coach a pee wee league much less in the NFL. The best course of action for the Dolphins and Fans is to have Zach Thomas "accidently" tackle Cam and put him in a coma! That would at least give the fins a chance.

Well, this permanently ends all hope for this defense. They are done, finished toast. Rebuild, retool, redraft, repair, reposses. Sell the farm, trade the janitors...for the next 5 years we will have a hot offense and pansy d, role reversal.
